Luma Studios was founded in 2004 by Wolfgang Freithof and Jörg Windau, two established New York photographers whose careers have been built on capturing the city’s most discerning clients in corporate, fashion, and event settings. From behind the lens, they understood the power of environment—how a thoughtfully designed space could set the tone for creativity, collaboration, and professionalism.
What began as a single photography studio has grown into a portfolio of 10 bespoke spaces in Midtown Manhattan. Each one is a reflection of Wolfgang and Jörg’s belief that work and creativity deserve a setting that is as distinctive as the people behind it.

The Team
Wolfgang Freithof
Wolfgang, originally from Austria, began his career in the hospitality industry before founding his first New York photography business more than 35 years ago, which later became “A Day of Bliss Photography Inc”. His background instilled a sharp eye for detail and a deep commitment to client service—qualities that continue to define Luma Studios today.
